How to submit an item to TxSpace

1. Login to TxSpace

Once you have created an account, you will need to login to TxSpace to submit an item to a collection. You can find the login form by clicking the My TxSpace link on the left-hand menu under the Sign on to: heading (Figure 1).

2. Find your collection

The easiest way to submit your item into the appropriate collection is to browse to that collection on the Communities & Collections page. Figure 2 shows the screen you should see after a successful login; you can confirm that you are actually logged in by the text in the upper-left-hand corner. To browse the collections available in TxSpace, click on the Communities & Collections link under the Browse heading.

Once you click the Communities & Collections link, you will see a hierarchical list of all available collections, just like Figures 2 and 3. Scroll down the page until you identify your collection. For this example, we are using the Research Scholars Theses collection in the Office of Undergraduate Research community. Once you have found your collection, click the link to go to the collection home page.

3. Click the "Submit to collection" button

To start the submission process for this collection, click the button labeled Submit to This Collection (see Figure 4).

4. Follow the submission workflow

Submitting to a collection is a multi-step process. At each step, simply read the questions and answer them to the best of your ability; all of this metadata can be edited later if a mistake is made. Usually, only a few of the fields are required, and the rest are optional, as demonstrated in Figure 5.
